The course is divided into two units:
a) Italian-Slovene Contrastive Grammar 1
b) Italian for Special Purposes for Translators

Italian-Slovene Contrastive Grammar 1:
Students upgrade their grammatical competences gained during the first two years of the cycle, extending their knowledge to the contrastive grammar between Italian and Slovene. They gain familiarity with the translation-relevant contrastive analysis methods and topics: comparison of Slovene and Italian clause structures and their interaction with the verb systems of the two langauges; aspectual oppositions (perfect : imperfect; perfective : imperfective; passato prossimo : passato remoto); reported speech.
Italian for Specific Purposes for Translators:
Students deal with a series of topics which help them build up their specific topic related vocabulary and cultivate idiomatic usage of Italian for specific purposes. Oral expression techniques aim to sensitize students to the form of organized classroom discussion. Written expression techniques investigate advanced forms of the writing process, which students apply to the writing skills gained during the first two years, especially in the field of Italian for specific purposes.
