Research
Scientific work is an integral part of the regular activities of the department and its associates. It is carried out within the research group Musicology at the Scientific Institute of the Faculty of Arts and in cooperation with other research institutions, especially with the Institute of Musicology at the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
The staff of the Department of Musicology currently participates in the following programs and projects:
- research program Researches in the History of Music in Slovenia in cooperation with the Research Centre of Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (project manager Asist. Prof. Metoda Kokole, PhD),
- research project Music and Ethnic Minorities: (Trans)cultural Dynamics in Slovenia After the Year 1991 in cooperation with the Research Centre of Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (project manager Prof. Svanibor Pettan, PhD),
- research project A common cultural heritage: life, music and music theories of Giuseppe Tartini in the European context in cooperation with the Univerity of Padua (project manager Prof. Sergio Durante, PhD and Asist. Prof. Nejc Sukljan, PhD),
- research project Old traditions in new vestments: Musical and textual reworkings in the performing practices of liturgical music in cooperation with the Research Centre of Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (project manager Katarina Šter, PhD),
- research project Influx of musicians to the Slovene Lands during the long 19th century – their impact and integration in cooperation with the Research Centre of Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (project manager Maruša Zupančič, PhD),
- research project Digital Presentation of the Long-Sixteenth-Century Church Music Connected to Carniola in cooperation with the Research Centre of Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (project manager Klemen Grabnar, PhD),
- research project Music and politics in the post-Yugoslav space: toward a new paradigm of politics of music in the 21st century in cooperation with the Research Centre of Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (project manager Ana Hofman, PhD).
