Asst. Prof. Dr. Lidija Rezoničnik

Lidija Rezoničnik (ORCID: 0000-0002-4479-6106) is an assistant professor of Polish literature at the Department of Slavistics, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. After graduating in Polish and German philology and completing parallel studies of Slovenian philology and comparative literature, she earned her PhD with the dissertation The Polish and Slovenian Literary Canon from the Period of Modernism as Film Adaptation (2014). During and after her studies, she attended classes at the University of Warsaw (2007/2008, 2008/2009, 2011/2012) and the Silesian University in Katowice (2019). As part of the programme at the International Cultural Centre in Krakow, she spent three months conducting research in the archives of the Jagiellonian University (2022).

Her research areas include contemporary Polish literature, Polish-Slovenian literary contacts, interdisciplinary relations between literature and film in the context of film adaptations, and imagological research.

She is a member of the research group Intercultural Literary Studies (P6-0265, ARIS, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana) and the Film Studies Group at the Institute of Polish Culture, Faculty of Polish Studies, University of Warsaw (Zespół Badań nad Filmem, Instytut Kultury Polskiej, Uniwersytet Warszawski), and is the co-author of the monograph Masterpieces of Polish Literature and Film: Pharaoh, The Wedding, Mother Joan of the Angels (Ljubljana University Press, Faculty of Arts, 2021 – Slovenian edition; University of Warsaw Press, 2023 – English translation). In addition, she is a member of the editorial board of the journal Z teorii i praktyki dydaktycznej języka polskiego, published by the Silesian University Press.

Lidija Rezoničnik participated in the project History of Doctoral Dissertations by Slovene Candidates in the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1872–1918) and managed the projects Herb Stories of Gornji Grad (Student Projects Aimed at Sustainable Development, 2022/2023) and Literary Residency Gornji Grad (Project Work for the Acquisition of Students’ Practical Experience and Skills in the Work Environment, 2023). In the Slavic Society of Slovenia, she has served as secretary, co-organiser of the Slovenian Slavic Congresses, and co-editor of the Congress Proceedings (2019–2022). She has also served as the technical editor of the journal Jezik in slovstvo (2016–2020) and has participated in international Slavic conferences in Austria (Salzburg), Switzerland (Basel), Hungary (Budapest), Croatia (Zagreb, Osijek), Germany (Frankfurt/Oder), Italy (Udine), Poland (Katowice, Słubice) and Romania (Bucharest).
