The following concepts will be discussed, explained and illustrated with concrete examples: lexicology, word, lexeme, phrase; meaning; homonymy, synonymy, paronymy, antonyms, hyponymy and hyperonymy, polysemy; single-word and multi-word expressions, valency; developing the lexical system, creating new words, disappearing words and changing meaning.
In practice, students will get acquainted with various types of lexicographic manuals, their content and will learn to use them in practice for study and professional purposes.
